| Hallie Spinks Submitted By: Heather Gray | A dear friend/co-worker's nephew (and wife) have a 3 month old daughter, Hallie. During her routine 2 month old check up, doctors noticed that her abdomen was swollen and sent her for an ultrasound. That ultrasound resulted in a trip to Riley's Children's Hospital where they determined that little Hallie has a cancer called Neuroblastoma. Please pray for Hallie & her family. | 05-02-2012 |

| Lane Goodwin | Yesterday: The preliminary results are that Lane is still responding to the clinical trial! YEAH!!! Thank you God!!!! So he will continue chemo for the next 6 weeks & then they will scan again. This is week 12 of the 36 wk clinical trial. Also not only is there no PET activity in the 3 tumors in his jaw area, the CT showed that they are shrinking!!!! WOO HOO!!! The other 10 tumors are not being scanned for shrinkage at this time just the jaw area where the initial tumor began. Pray that the final reports show the same thing!! Posted on his Facebook page this afternoon: Lane is scheduled to be admitted tomorrow thru Friday for his "big chemo" as he calls it. I just got off the phone with Vandy & all the beds are full again. Please pray with us that a bed opens up & there is no delay in his treatment. | Lydia Haycraft Submitted By: Sandy Free | Lydia started radiation on her arm Monday, 4/16. She will go for the next five weeks, everyday for ten minutes a day except for Saturdays and Sundays. When the family first found out she had cancer, the doctors said there were thousands of nodules of cancer in both her lungs as well as a larger mass in her left lung and then the original tumor in her left arm. They just found out last week that ALL the nodules in her lungs are gone except for a 2 x 2 cm spot, which they want to remove surgically, because they think it could be just scar tissue. Hallelujah! She was supposed to have started her second round of the new chemo on Monday as well, but her urine levels were not where they needed to be, so they pushed that back until tomorrow. She will now complete five or six more rounds of the new chemo (including the round she will start tomorrow), have some amount of whole lung radiation after the chemo is complete and then be re-evaluated again. Hopefully, Lydia will be cancer free by Thanksgiving of this year. Since she has been changed to this new round of chemo she seems to have gotten some energy back and her spirits are usually always great. It is hard for her to watch her lbrother go to school when she can't, because she absolutely loved Kindergarten - but she takes it well. Don't know if it is because she is getting older or if it's her experiences, but she seems much more mature these days, more mellow where she use to be high strung. She talks about the things she wants to do when her "cancer is over" like swimming, going to the beach and getting her own 4-wheeler. She has lots of hope for the future and sometimes it's her enthusiasm that makes this whole thing easier to bear. Continue praying for Lydia and the entire family! | 04-17-2012 |
